A few weeks ago, as shown in this post, I noticed a lace bug next to some eggs on our oak tree. Yesterday I checked the tree, and it was covered in young and adult lace bugs! They are true bugs in the order Hemiptera, family Tingidae. They can be pests on plants, but at the same time are rather beautiful (if you can get a good enough look at them, they are very small).
These bugs are really annoying, because I have a garden and my plants have gotten many of these bugs or maybe others but I want to get a pesticide to kill them.
I am currently fulfilling my lifelong dream as a PhD student studying entomology. I have a B.Sc. in Applied Zoology.
This blog serves as a gateway for my natural history adventures, as well as updates on my shop. I create plush interpretations and drawings of insects and other wildlife, and custom orders are my specialty.
