Planarians

Did you get to play with these guys in biology class?

I remember in high school we got some planarians to mess around with... if you cut them in half they'll grow into two worms, and if you cut the head in half it'll grow two heads.

They are flatworms, phylum Platyhelminthes.

I made a few plushies! One small, one medium, and one with two heads. Available now in my etsy shop.

One of the coolest things I remember about biology class! Also really liked finding our own blood types.

Your worms are much cuter than the ones I played with in high school!

As I know, at the head of the planarian there is a ganglion under the eyespots. From the ganglion there are two nerve cords which connect at the tail.

Thanks for the post! Almost everyone of us probably faced the problem by observing in the aquariums intruders -little white worms called planarians (Latin Dugesia gonocephala) harmful for aquarium inhabitants.
