I'm not sure about their distribution but they seem pretty common in my area and probably most of the northeast US, but they have VERY good camoflauge. You really have to try hard to find them, but once you know where and when to look (August/Sept, on goldenrod and queen anne's lace and other yellow/white flowers), then they're easy and seem to be everywhere.Weird Bug Ladyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12695725412052902749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927516849519375994.post-49202811309782432622008-08-11T10:07:00.000-04:002008-08-11T10:07:00.000-04:00I've never heard of or seen ambush bugs. I had to take a picture of it (cuz I'd never actually seen one in person before) and swear to God, it's looking at me. I was standing like 7 feet away to take the picture, and it totally looks like it's looking at me. It was creepy. hahaAmandahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06568300957030348322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927516849519375994.post-78398958997690523842008-08-10T14:17:00.000-04:002008-08-10T14:17:00.000-04:00Such great shots, perhaps if I'd stop flailing and...Such great shots, perhaps if I'd stop flailing and screaming and running I too could captuire these amazing moments in nature, yes?T.Allenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07288157852760931385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7927516849519375994.post-76932597479369647952008-08-09T20:16:00.000-04:002008-08-09T20:16:00.000-04:00Beautiful photos of the praying mantis.
